Resurrection August: Starting up the Chevrolet Suburban

Da var det på tide og rydde skogen, og lete frem Chevrolet Suburbanen igjen.

Lenge siden vi har sett den nå! Den har gjemt seg bort!

Men den ville liksom ikke være med på leken. Selv panseret ville ikke opp. Hood hatch hadde rustet helt fast! Ente opp med å spraye olje rundt alle plasser der jeg kunne komme til rundt den! Når vi endelig kom inn i motor rommet, så hadde jeg glemt at jeg hadde tatt ut batteriet. Ja ja, da var det bare å lete opp et som kunne passe. Pontiac Trans AMen, hadde et med polene på samme plass. Så var det å prøve å starte da… Oj oj. Her må det ha vært en del kondens. Utrolig hvor lenge det nye batteriet klarte å dra rundt den store motoren altså! Meget imponerende av et «rimelig» Biltema TIN batteri! Men til slutt virket kondensfjerner og ny bensin + startgass. Og V8eren voknet skate og motvillig til liv igjen!

Then it was time to clear the forest and look for the Chevrolet Suburban again. Long time since we’ve seen it now! It has hidden away! But it somehow didn’t want to join the game. Even the hood wouldn’t go up. Hood hatch had completely rusted! Ended up spraying oil around every place I could get around it! When we finally got into the engine room, I had forgotten that I had taken out the battery. Yes, then it was just a matter of looking for one that would fit. The Pontiac Trans AM, had one with the poles in the same place. Then it was time to try to start then… Ouch. There must have been some condensation here. Amazing how long the new battery was able to drag around the big engine! Very impressive from an «affordable» Biltema TIN battery! But in the end condensation remover and new petrol + starting gas worked. And the V8er sprang to life again reluctantly!
