Da var det på tide å prøve å gjøre noen småting videre med bilen.
En av EU / MOT feilene er rust i dørstokker. Jeg hadde det samme på min sølvfargede RX også.
Men for å få oversikt over problemene, så må man av med plastdørstokkene. Problemet med denne løsningen, er jo at det samler seg jord og sand + salt, bak plasten! Da kan man nesten garantere at det kan komme rust.
«Rocker panel», som det heter ute i verden, er festet med noen få skruer, bolter, og flere plastklips på undersiden + plast klips bak panelene oppe mot dørene.
Dessverre så er klipsene på undersiden, utsatt for mye dritt og de blir veldig sprøe etter noen år. Samme på min andre bil, og på denne. Ender opp med å brekke de fleste i stykker, så de må erstattes. Heldigvis så er det mindre jobb på dørstokkene på denne bilen enn på min sølvfargede!

I also had damage repaired that was on the rocker panels. Here we had to use very hot water and shape the panels back to their original shape! Watch at the end of the video! Then it was time to try to do some more small things with the car. One of the EU / MOT errors is rust in the door jambs. I had the same thing on my silver RX too. But to get an overview of the problems, you have to get rid of the plastic door jambs. The problem with this solution is that dirt and sand + slats accumulate behind the plastic! Then you can almost guarantee that rust can occur. The «rocker panel», as it is called in the world, is attached with a few screws, bolts, and several plastic clips on the underside + plastic clips behind the panels up against the doors. Unfortunately, the clips on the underside are exposed to a lot of crap and they become very brittle after a few years. Same on my other car, and on this one. End up breaking most of them to pieces, so they have to be replaced. Fortunately, there is less work on the door jambs on this car than on my silver one!
